Replacement Front Passenger Seat - 53 Reg

Hello everyone,

Firstly, thank you for your time taken to notice and read this post.

I am trying to find a replacement front passenger seat for my Toyota Yaris T-Spirit, registration year 53.

I've tried to google it but I don't seem to find the result I'm looking for.

Basically a friend has burnt a cigarette hole in the passenger seat and I wish to replace it before I sell it.

Does anyone here know of anyhwere where I could possibly find such a replacement? Or can you just get the seat material recovered?

The seat style I am unsure off and will have to go away and look it up.

Thank you again your time and I look forward to reading any insight into this.

Rob

Hi Rob,

Most scrappies will have things like this, if you can find a Jap specialist in particular they're always selling off interiors and other useful parts from wrecked cars, I got a whole new interior for my old BMW from one of those dealers and for the whole thing, it was less than 100 quid, and that included carpets/mats/glovebox lid/interior trim and a few other bits and bobs I needed, so I'm sure you'll be able to get what you need at a reasonable price :)

Failing that, getting seats recovered can be an expensive task, but there are some specialists, if you were keeping the car, you could have gone for a leather interior, but as you're selling on, I'm not really sure who to recommend, because the only guys I know of (who I trust and) who do full leather interiors are over towards Liverpool!

Like I say though, best bet is your local breakers yard/Jap scrap specialists, I'm sure you'll find what you need :)

Local scrap yards are the obvious choice but it seems a bit drastic to me to replace the entire seat.

There are also companies who can do smart repairs, I'm sure there will be specialists in interior repairs but even Chips Away do it now. Just been on their website and other than the obvious paintwork services, they also offer interior repairs including cigarette burns. Worth getting a guy to come out and give you a quote. It would certainly be the most convenient choice.

Hi Rob, i had a !Removed! burn repaired in a rare VW Jetta i once owned.

This guy came out, took the seat out, removed the seat cover and just stitched a patch in it.

Sounds a bit heath robinson, but you could hardly tell afterwards.

That was a about 10yrs ago now and iirc it was about £40. ;)

Excellent suggestion about the chips away. I've heard of them and they did some paint work once on my mothers car. Mind you he did screw it up and the car was sent away to be resprayed in the end. They paid ofcourse. The guy was very new though :).

I think I will ask for a quote from them and see where it goes. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll keep you posted of my results from them.

If I have no luck with chips away I will be sure to source out a scrappy. Thank you for the suggestion. I didn't realise you could get Jap specialist scrappies. Thank you again.

Patching it up might be a good idea also. Didn't think of it. I doubt anyone would notice if its patched up. They barely notice the hole now. I am only concerned with the hole because I'm selling it someone I know. Don't want to let them down etc.

Thank you again for all of your suggestions, they are excellent ones. Thank you.

Rob
