Corola Verso 2.0 D T Spirit O5 Reg A Good Buy?

hello you good people.

we have just purchased a Toyota Corolla verso 2.0 d T Spirit for £7.500 with 83,000 miles on the clock from a garage in Walsall and we are wondering what to expect from this vehicle.

We have done all the usuall checks (Which magazine,AA Data check, etc etc ) and we were wondering have we bought well?

Any chance of giving us tips as to what to expect from the car.

I had a test run and it seem to handle well and although we went into the garage expecting to buy another Ford C-Max or look at the volswagan Toran (which by the way was terrible for the money thay were asking ) we were simply blown away by the Toyota (silver).

Anyway, we would be grateful for some feedback

regards

That is a very open ended question and if you have a search through this forum you will see owner experiences ranging from it's the best car I have ever had to, I would never touch one of these or any other Toyota again. However, you would pretty much find that on ANY car forum.

My experience is that the Verso does what it says on the tin. Very flexible interior space for minimum exterior dimensions, MPG is as close to Toyota quote as makes no difference (again a contentious area) and considering the size and weight it shifts along at a passable rate.

Niggles, the arm rests are not really usable, the child locks are not centrally controlled and it would be nice if the window lock was back windows only instead of all but the drivers. But these are very minor quibbles so all in all you probably have made a wise choice.

Verso's are cool  We really like our little van, I agree with Ian it does what it says on the tin  We have used the 6th and 7th seats twice in the last 6 weeks and whilst not comfy for adults they have saved people expensive taxi fares!

My advice would be to see if you can get a warranty that will cover the injectors on the car, all common rail diesels have expensive ones (£1000+) and they don't last forever. Or if your lucky see if the car has had them done in its service history, any other major issues will be bad luck providing the car has been well maintained.

The paint is a little soft and its easy to scratch the interior plastics, but no car is perfect at this price bracket.

On these type of forums you will find that people post here when they have problems so you may get an biased view !!

I have owned the Verso for 40,000 miles and are really pleased with it and have ordered another one !!

Tyre life is very good !! plenty of room !! ride is okay but can get a bit choppy at low speeds !! cruises very well !!but as another member has said the paint is very soft .

Toyota dealers are on the whole very good and many offer discounted servicing for vehicles over 3 years old !!

I had a good look round before ordering another Verso but the Verso ticked all the boxes

hope it helps

Hi there

I would like to share that i have just brought my first corolla verso 2.0 -d4d on 2005 plate 60k,with dvd screens parking sensors for 5.5 k.Saying that im struggling getting to terms that a full tank costing me £65 is getting me 320 miles.Seems awfully low, anyone help out here,or am i just been a little crazy here?

Depending on your driving habits/length of journeys etc...you should be getting more miles per tank !

I do reasonably long trips and regularly get 450 + miles per tank, what does your mpg readout say ??

I always leave mine on average mpg and it usually reads 47-50 mpg

My advice would be to note what your ave mpg says on the dash and then get the car a good service, you will then be able to see if there is a difference in the mpg reading.

The actual mpg of the car is liable to be a little lower than the dash figure but it gives you a comparative reading !

Perhaps oil/filter change + air filter + fuel filter might help but it is a starting point, always worth checking tyre pressures too !

good luck baz
