Celica Gen 6 & Mr2 Front Brake Lines

Hi all,

Can anybody tell me if the front brake lines for a Celica Gen 6 are the same as the MR2's

I bought a set of goodridge brake hoses (from Flea bay) that where advertised as Celica Gen 6 1994-1999.

I received a set for the MR2 and the guy who I bought them off says that they will fit.

Can anybody confirm this.

Cheers

This isnt actually helpfull as such but i had an MR2 a few years ago which i did change them and remember them being longer than a lot of cars im used to working on, and the celica is the same, so if they length is the same, and the ends look the same, it should be fine. There wouldnt be much diffrence, certainly the ends should be the same as the callipers on the front are the same, and the other end is a standard brake pipe union. The other end should be a banjo fitting with a small hook type thing comming off it.

Sorry its not conclusive but might help a bit.

try them up against the strut for length and make sure that the retaining lug on the hose will match the holder on the strut . mot failure if its flopping about, plus you dont want it rubbing anywhere .

also make sure the end that enters the caliper is identical cos you can damage the insides of the caliper and it will leak fluid .

Thanks again all for the replies..

I took it to a garage and the kit supplied matches but the end lug will not secure in (travels up and down). Its a different type of end fitting.

It fits but slides up and down. The mechanic said it would be an MOT failure.

Been back in touch with the guy who I bought them off and he said 2 things..

1. The end (opposite end to the banjo) need a locking type of pin in it.

2. Could be wrong pipe but he is contacting goodridge on Monday.

Surely everything comes in the kit.

I am a bit concerned overall....

Well I will have to wait till Monday now.

Cheers
