you can bet that there will be loads of hybrids/battery cars out in 2011 if it is 9500 for the hybrid yaris theyll sell loads in fact ii may trade mine in for one.

So it looks like the Yaris will be the next to follow in the footsteps (tyre tracks?) of the

Prius and Auris in getting the hybrid treatment with a planned 85mpg predicted.

just read it... probably be a fair bit dearer when it gets here, though! I spotted the bit about the Pius' solar-powered roof, to cool the car... Hmm, not so original.... SAAB had a concept car with this idea, about 30 years ago, mind you, it was stated that the solar roof cooled the car, which got so warm due to having a glass roof.. Irony or what? The SAAB, by the way, was fab!!

VW Polo Blue Motion is more economical and without the batteries.

Just how economical is the Polo Bluemotion? I thought the new concept version was about 3.3l/100K

which is about 85.5mpg isn't it? so about the same (diesel is more expensive).

May not have the batteries but does have the DPF to cope with those nasty Diesel particulates.

The hybrid Yaris will be an auto rather than manual too so easier to drive around town.

Looks like the Polo will be more expensive too.
