Service Reminder Indicator

Hi to all, Just picked up my new Aygo Platinum last Friday, 07/08, i was wondering about the service reminder indicator, My daughter has a Micra and when she switches on the Ignition a mileage is momentarily shown with a spanner next to it to indicate how far she has to go before service is due.

I have read the handbook for the aygo and it shows a section where it is, but for the life of me I cannot see it, even when turning ignition for first time.

does it actually show it ? am I doing something wrong ? or is it only noticed when the actual mileage is achieved ?

I too read the manual that came with the car, but ever saw any reference to such an indicator.

Mine has been out for service 4 times since I've bought the car and I've never seen one either...

Hi Jan, In the front of the manual it shows a collection of circles on the right side of the speedometer, It then lists what some of the lights represent, it states that the service indicator is there.

I can't imagine they would have changed that on the facelift...

Here's a couple of pics of the speedoface with all icons showing

and the grid beneath showing all possible places for LEDs.

As you can see there are NO places for extra LEDs provided and the icons are present on ALL cars.

It's the LEDs that illuminate them that are only present when the actual function is on the car.

Hi thanks for the pics, but cant see any service reminder, Am I missing something ? As far as I can tell the manual points to the cluster just below the Fuel gage / trip /ODD section.

On my Polo the service indicator is on the lcd display, havnt picked up my aygo yet to really know!

I don't know. The cluster shown in the pictures is a PRE-facelift cluster,

but I can't recall it being any different than the cluster from the facelifted Aygo.

The icons shown are Power Steering, Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, Pre Glow

and the Fuel Filter Condensation Warning. Those last two are specifically for a Diesel,

so it COULD be that they've replaced one of those, as the Diesel has been discontinued...

My manual refers to a list of service indicators, there isn't one specific to the 10k service, think the confusion is the manual refering to them as service indicators where as car condition indicators maybe a better term for them.

You just need to remember when you pass each 10k miles or year to book in a service

I've been reading the handbook this evening (how sad is that?) and as it's been said, there isn't a service indicator as such. There are only lights to tell you if there's a problem. The Aygo doesn't use variable service intervals like those posh BMW's and Micras :D

The servicing should be done every year or 10k miles.

Yay no annoying beep like my Polo had. Stupid thing beeped every ignition till i could afford to get it serviced.

Looks like we have no option but to use the service reminder that is supplied to us located between our ears then.

Hi, Thanks for all the help, I understand that the service indicators actually refer to the various lights such as the Power Steering etc when first switching ign on indicating all is well.
