My Fx-gt Keeps Stalling !

Hi everyone. I hope someone can help !!. I own a '92 Corolla FX-GT (20V), which keeps stalling when i slow down at lights, etc. It's especially bad when i speed up, then have to slow down again, for example when driving around in a carpark. I've had it hooked up to a diagnostic machine, but nothing showed up as being faulty. I've also tried another distributor & coil, with no success. The mechanic reckons it must be the engine computer. I've got another one out of a '93 Corolla Levin, which i am hoping will have the same connections ?. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem - i'm really hoping it's not the computer as this could prove expensive ?. There don't appear to be any leaks from any pipes, etc. The problem is very intermittent, so is hard to trace. Also, does anyone know what the 0-100kmph time is for my car ?. Cheers !!

is accelration rough or poor ? if so then its a clogged airfilter they're very sensitive to getting enough air or they overfuel to compensate and choke the engine to death.

If acceleration is normal then chek out your fuel tank, lines and filter for blockages which will do the complete opposite of that above and starve your engine of fuel causing it to die.

good luck.

If it is the computer, try going for a after market chip, piggy back if you will.

It goes for about R 1 800. this includes fitment and remapping, the remapping

is the part that should sort it out, and from there on, you'll be able

to remap after every mod for best performance.

good luck man!!!!

remember a re-map wont cure the problem it will make the best of a crap running engine, imagine how much better the car would run if you fixed the actual problem first then remapped a 'good engine'......
