I have cancelled my new T3 prius today the wheels have totally done my head 17 inch wheels for high milage driver seems not to be practical

or economical . 15 inch wheels seem to be right wheels T3 prius has no cruise control i love cruise control it is not possible to get cruise control added on T3 . So i have now replaced order with T. spirit in pearl white if i am not happy with wheels i will swap for smaller 15 inch wheels

At least i will have my Cruise control and every thing else if i am not happy i will be looking to swap 17 inch for 15 inch wheels

Wouldn’t the rolling radius be the same for the car whether the wheels are 15” or 17”?

I thought the speedo reading would be inaccurate if there was a big difference? Smaller wheel but bigger tyre, or bigger wheel and smaller tyre but the overall radius being the same?

Hi i think by talking to toyota dealer and by the letter i have had from toyota the overall size is much the same.

But 15inch have more tyre wall depth that may give little softer ride tyre is not so expensive and the prius is all about

being cost affective . 15 inch are not so wide less contact with road possible less road noise if you have solar roof

it comes with 15 inch wheels because they are lighter in weight

17" not practical for high mileage user?

I must be doing something wrong with my 17" low profiles then.

Infact, I don't understand exactly what you're getting at?

not having ago or anything - but i'm confused on how the rim size makes any difference?

I always thought a larger wheel would cover more distance in one rotation - and so, a larger wheel would be better for motorway driving?

Smaller wheels will cover less distance in one rotation, but allow for faster accelleration as a smaller wheel doesnt require as much torque to turn it?

Aesthetically I would have thought the 17” would look better on a car that size?

i agree the 17" wheels do look better on the car than the 15" wheels. also the 17" are one piece alloy wheels, whereas the 15" are the same as the gen2 model magnesium alloy with a plastic wheel trim on top.

Argghhh, not again! All UK spec Gen 2 models had 16" wheels as standard, and that includes the one sitting on my drive.
