hello all

have just taken delivery of my new iq so decided to join this forum as i know i will be able to pick up and exchange lots of info here.

does anyone find a difference between this car and your typical manual? i used to drive a focus. dont get me wrong i love the iq and so proud to own one but felt slightly strange driving it at first getting used to using the clutch to start, gear shift etc. maybe its just all my imagination and getting used to another car.

would be very interested in anyones thoughts on the subject.

having said all that its a beautiful car and i love her.!!!!!!!

I had a focus as my last car. That gearchange was very mechanical, went in with a clunk. Clutch was reasonable i thought. Now with the iq, clutch pedal is very light, gear stick mechanism is silky smooth. I cant imagine a car with an easier gear change than this, its perfect. (Car is a 6 speed iq3)

I was amazed at how easy the box was in an iq(2) and I have come from 3 BMW m3's with the paddle shift boxes.

So much so I changed my mind from an auto to a manual iq(3). Just hope the box is as good in the iq(3) as I test drove the 5speed iq(2).

My wife has a Renault Modus, which I drove yesterday for the first time in ages. I couldn't believe how "heavy" it was compared to my iq. However I do find the iq's clutch to be very, almost too, light and the bite is quite fierce. (I shouldnt admit to this as a man, but I have actually stalled my iq twice already):thumbsup::unsure:

oh i am so pleased you were honest enough to say you stalled the iq as i have done just that myself. i know its just a manual car but eco friendly.

think it must take a little time to adapt to it.

thats why i am interested in other peoples views on this.

Only stalled twice swindonblackiq? Done it several times myself, though never did in my old Vitara being a noisier 2L engine. Now having such a quiet 1L it is difficult to hear if you've got enough revs. I guess it's a common teething problem until we all get used to our new toy.

shift is good idea for eco friendly but i tend just to to ignore it. now i have drivin it for a few days i understand it !!!!!!i think !!!!!!!
