As above the car is due an oil change but there is a fair price difference between the 2 viscositys, as the engine is knocking on 60k maybe 10w40 would be better?

I am no oil guru, previously i would just stick Castrol gtx from the supermarket in the sheds previously owned but i think maybe it may be worth putting something better in as i intend to keep it in the family for a good few years.

If anyone knows any good deals on oil that would be much appreciated

I'd go with the 5W 30. At 60k the engine sould not be worn to the extent that it would need 10W40.
