Speaker Wiring

OK, so... just picked up my 1.3SR, very nice. I know I've made it now, because my car's in GT3 A-spec :P

But I'm completely underwhelmed with the stereo system... I've just sold all the ICE for my old car to cover the purchase of this one BUT I've got a set of nice 6x9s left over. Is it possible to wire these up to the standard stereo?

Because I ain't got the money for a new head unit, but I don't want to carry on with just two front-mounted Speakers.

I just wanted to find out if there was some wiring ready behind that ***** of a facia. And also if there's a front/rear fader that may kick in if I attach the aforementioned 6x9s to the aforementioned wiring...

I guess I could just wait for some mo' money and put a head and 4-channel amp in, but that may be quite a while!!!

Theres no wiring there already.

You have to run speaker wire underneath the plastic kick pannels underneath the doors to the back.

Best way to connect this to the stock headset is by using a 15 pound loom you can get from your toyota dealer.

std system runs the dash Speakers as the front channel and the doors as the rear channel

you have to eire the dash and doors together to acheive a front channel on the both and the then run wires to the back end to connect up for the rears

you should get a decent rear fill with a bit of bass then

Door Speakers? Blimey! Didn't even notice those! They must be really good...

Hmmm... I must have missed the fader function, I'll have another look for it tonight...

And I can see the way forward, door and front Speakers wired in parallel, 6x9s in a DIY stealth shelf... tinny OEM stereo thudding out some serious 25w action :help:
