Dogs Locked In Prius 2

Just got a Prius T-Spirit registered in Oct 08. A great car even if it frightens our dogs when they are briefly locked in it and the alarm goes off. Local (excellent) Toyota dealer says to press the white button under the fascia before getting out and locking it. This does not seem to work. Also the handbook shows that this button has 2-positions, on and off. Our white button has only 1-position. If it is pressed it springs out again immediately. Could anyone advise, please?

My advice is don't leave your dogs in the car, it's cruel as in hot or sunny weather (even if it's cold outside) even with the windows open a little, they can be dead within 20 minutes. It's better to leave them at home for a short time rather than in the car. If you need to take them with you then leave them outside the shop in the fresh air, preferably with someone else looking after them. I have in the past (on two occasions) broke a car window to let fresh air into the car, I was threatened with the police until I threatened them back with the SSPCA for cruelty.

Ok.. that wasn't what you wanted to hear.. but hey ho! as for the car, go to the dealer and get them to show you how it works, if there is a problem you can book it in for repair.

You make a valid general point but are completely out of order for a devoted owner of 2 Cavaliers!

I had a few Cavaliers and then Vectras, they only "felt" as if they couldn't go around corners, had lots of body roll, I think people usually chickened out long before they reached an unsafe speed where they could lose a hold on the road?
