St205 Brakes And Air Filter

hi guys i am looking at changing the standard air filter on my st205 import , originally i was going to move Battery to the boot , and make my own straight filter set up with custom box and cold air feed.

but due to lack of time at the moment i was going to stick a panel filter in for the time being.

i have found the blitz LM and k&n panels for sale which are both washable and resonably priced although the k&n is a little more.

wot i want to know is which would be better in all respects? is the k&n only more due to the name??

next question : -

i am going to be replacing the brake discs on my car as they were a little warped when i bought it.

going for the ebc grooved discs but unsure on what pads to buy. would really like the yellow stuffs but they are alot of money for pads in my opinion, are they really worth it??

my other options are the mintex and ultimax pads?? are these any good ??

has any one tried any of these 3 or even better tried all 3 and can give me a comparison of them ie price vs performance vs wear rate????

and is their any others that you have triad and i should consider??

any help appreciated

cheers

kyle

i think k&n's are really crappy filters personally.

I'd go for the Blitz LM over the K&N any day of the week.

I've heard bad things about cracking EBC discs. Personally i would go with Brembo discs from www.3gbrakes.co.uk. Cheaper than genuine toyota ones. I've had these discs on lots of cars now.

Mintex are good pads. never heard of ultimax. EBC Red Stuff Ceramic and Yellow Stuff are good pads. Tried and tested i've found them great as a daily drive to work pad but also great stopping power at the Nurburgring.

yeh have seen alot of st205 owners are using the blitz filters so must ok!

yeh i have heard of the cracking discs too but normally only the drilled ones which is y i went for grooved. but i have dropped 3g an email as there site isn't up and see wot they say.

ultimax are ebc's new pads 1st i heard of them 2. so u recon mintex are good then.

i had red stuffs on another car and didn't fancy their "warm up period" heard the yellows were better on this so thought of trying them!

A K&N panel filter will serve you well and will last as long as you look after it.....avoid sponge filters.

EBC discs are very good, been using them for 4 years, better than the TRD discs which are just standard discs with 4 slots cut into them.....but dont under estimate standard discs, they are more than up to the task of bringing you to a hault.

TRD pads are awesome, EBC Red & yellow stuff get good reports, although I have never used them myself, Carbotech pads are by far the best but very expensive.
