Probably an oxygen sensor. Have a search on here , plenty of posts about them. Welcome to the madhouse btw.

bank 1 sensor 1 heater circuit matey the sensor is on the right hand side as you look at it(gearbox side) toyota part no 89467-42020 the prices for the part are approx 140 plus vat.easy job but some times you can pull the threads out the cat while removing the sensor not good.

hope that helps.

Try going HERE Kevin.

I used them to purchase 2 sensors and used a local place to fit them for me. The top 2 should take around 30 minutes to change, the bottom 2 take a little longer (around 45 minutes).

Hope that helps :)

Go to a car spares shop and ask for an oxygen sensor socket. It has a special cut out for the wires.

If the shop hasnt got the special socket what we do is cut the wires near the sensor(first making sure you can still use the plug on the other end)socket it off, then clean the thread in the exhaust with a wire brush, then spanner the new sensor in,most lambda sensors come with a small packet of grease to lube the thread for ease.

iF THE SENSOR SIEZES,, cut the top off the sensor with the wires.. all your left with is a 22mm socket fitment.. put on a 22mm six sided socket ant winde it out... the sensor is aiioy the manifold is cast iron.. re cut the alloy left in the cast . 18 / 1.25 and the jobs done ,, takes our establishment 1/2 hour hot or cold to change

I had a P1135 fault too. The part replaced was 89467-42010. It had a shorter cable than the one next to it. Luckily its probably the easiest of the four sensors to replace.

anyone got any tips for getting the old sensor out as my first try it seems very tight indeed

Did you have the engine really hot? If so you can only follow the advice of Goodison above.

looks like the wrong sensor was ordered it says on old part , top front sensor on gearbox side 42010 so lambda part is 54001 and i have ordered 54003 as what previous answer but cant get electric plug to fit into the plastic socket , any suggestions , an are top and bottom the same part number

Depends on how good you are at electronics. You can take the sensor head off the old sensor and splice it onto the new sensor or you can order a new sensor and try and get a refund on the one you've ordered in error.

A lot will depend on whether you've ordered (original fit) Denso sensors or after market ones.

well guys

now found the sensor i was told to order on the forum is the sensor at the top left looking at the engine and not the right hand side, so i might as well change that seeing i have it now , unless i am changing the left or the right top i am not sure very confused

Bank 1 Sensor 1 is top right as you face the car.

Bank 2 Sensor 1 is top left as you face the car.

If it's any help, it confused the hell out of me too!

[hi again

all done , let me explain the P1135 fault has now been solved with the correct sensor being replaced and the sensor i replaced was the top left as you look at the engine front on , so the one near the fan right in front of you, and came out pretty easy indeed, anyway light gone out on the dash so all pukka now
