looking very good now, so close i can almost hear it running lol.

no gasket required, should be a rubber seal around the 'middle' part.

you may need the two long through bolts though. the part number is 90105-08324 i think

Hello mate you should start ur own thread on this as this one is a bit cluttered but what you need to do is take the rocker cover off, remove the camshafts and you should see all the buckets its in one of my pictures at the start of this thread. Take the bucket out, i find a magnet works best for this and you should see a shim inside the bucket. Thats what you need to change, need to order a bigger shim from toyota. Anymore help just say

I got them and yeh the rubber is there so its all good. Yeh next pay day will be all liquids which will make me good for startup. Intercooler plumbing and downpipe mod will be next and i think...... thats it. Gauges and sensors will be brought in before i get it mapped, plus 2 spal type fans as i am only running one at the moment which isnt ideal. Need a new front mount aswell but i have spotted one that isnt mega bucks. Water injection can be brought in after mapping.

sweet.

im only runnin one 11"fan and it seems ok although 2 would be better.

yeah your better off mapping without WI as its more of a fail-safe

Right ive mounted the header tank with some crude brackets similar to my ones for my oil coolers, not going for presentation just effectiveness. Thats a good idea alan as that foam is quite sturdy as foam goes and i will just prc some of that to the bodywork.

As for the rad cap i take it you need to remove the rubber seal the seals up the overflow pipe.

Those are the people just give them a ring. Only thing i was disappointed with was the two attachment brackets, told them to move them to the top which they have but they have made them smaller but oh well not a major issue.

Just to clarify lee, the drivshafts when they are full in you can pull them out say 10mm? but wont come any further, is this correct?

Got my plumbers tape today for some of the turbo fittings and my mate has modified the exhaust maniifold to turbo gasket. Just waiting on that !Removed! t3 adapter still.

The crane i cant do this week, tom has moved sqn's now but if i can't get hold of his van next week i will stick it in my mondeo and bring it back friday evening if thats ok?

A cylindrical style one with brackets would be easier to mount i reckon, people like martin king off the oc have got a header tank to exact fit and swirl pot made by fensport but it 340 quid for them to do it. My setup has cost me, £130.

next friday should be ok.

yeah the driveshaft will move out a tad, as long as the locking rings were on the joint when you put it in they will lock in.

Just put it on, its not the finished article as i need to clock the compressor slightly plus other stuff but just want to see what issues it would bring up.

Yeh im coming on friday, what time is good for your old man? I finish at midday. i have taken the legs off the crane as it was easier to get in the car, also my mate who used the load leveller (hope you dont mind) to change his engine in his puma has left some new D rings on it as he only needed to use them once.

Yeh it is quite big, space is definitely a premium right now. Some of the things i am doing kind of go against my engineering principles but its nothing major. My hot side intercooler plumbing comes close to the radiator but not that close and there is minimal play in the pipes, its not too easy to sway them about. It is also kind of resting on the lower radiator hose, isnt much weight on it therefore im accepting this for the time being.

Unfortunately i cannot clock the turbo so its pointing directly down as the clutch slave cylinder nipple is in the way so i have adapted and over came.

fantastic work bud, what turbo is that, you've probably stated it already but it's a big thread to go through lol.

once you've finished you'll need to start a new thread with the progress from start to end as it's full of useful info for anyone who needs it.

we've got the bottom end built up on our forged 3S-GTE now, just been too busy with the day to day jobs running late into the night to get a proper run at it. May is going to be even busier as I'm away training on 2 new engine management systems, can't wait though! lol :yahoo:

Its a gt3071r 0.86a/r with a 4 bolt 3" exhaust and a 4" intake. Going to get a custom down pipe and angled pipe for the wastegate made up next month.

Should be starting her up on wednesday/thursday so i'll have the video ready.

I will have to talk to you about the whiteline arb as i will need one of these in the next few months.

I will start a new thread, my only regret with this one is i havent really put any action shots up, like angling the engine in, putting the gearbox on. Last thing on your mind when there is only one or two of you, pity really cause it would have helped people attempting this a lot. Also i wish i had not put all those pics on the first post as they always flash up on every page ha.

A ridiculous excuse! I did all of the engine building alone and putting it back in and the gearbox with me dad! :P ;)

It'd be good if you were to post up a short montage video or something similar.

Im not good with making vids or slideshows haha. Yeh but when it comes to doing im just quite focussed on getting it done. Just started to clean my room out for moving bases, think i have a hks turbo timer harness if anyone wants it, its celica specific i think. Also found a 205 fuel pump, and the alternator snorkel and tons of other crap like pfd kits etc

Penetrant flaw detection, its like this luminous gel u rub on a surface if u suspect a crack, u have to dab at it a bit to aggrevate it then wipe it off. Then spray the developer on it, get a uv light and then you should either see a crack or not. We usually use it on heat shields on the harrier or on the nozzles. I swipe them from work, its big tins you can do 100's with one kit.
