Theres more big power mr2's these days so seems to be the way to go, i have seen one on a drag strip running around the figures you are aiming for i think and it did a wheelie, it is on youtube somewhere.

theres roy ashbys one (being broken now) that was about 600-680bhp and yeah that did do wheelies. was very lightened though.

I managed to buy an apexi pfc etc from a garage specialising in MR2 conversions in south of England I think about a year ago. We fitted it along with a stage 3 turbo and loads of other work.

My next move I think will be to fit a driving seat and gearchange that suits me better as my disability is getting worse.... slow gearchange and missing the 1st to 2nd gear change. Old age comes with problems and thats not the car!!

Ok maybe scrub that although you do get a lot of stuff for your money.

Look at a few cheaper ecu's not after anything special like the haltech sprint 500 although it needs hi impedance injectors, unfortunately i have 800 low's. http://www2.haltech.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=155&Itemid=17

The one that seems to stand out for the best money is the link g4 atom, may get one just after christmas.

Great units so long as your not wanting launch control, flat shift and anti-lag. Still can't get over the size of them!

been there done that. got the box on (gettin a gt4 box and transfer on isnt an easy job) only to see the release bearing sat beside me.

done something similar today, got the box in place to see the new bearing sitting on the table, had left the old one in place :censor:

Fawbs, if your wanting to go for the Link give me a shout as we get them at discounted prices

I know, i nearly got a gizzmo as they are quite cheap brand new but heard one or two bad things on the OC about them. Then a couple of the lads on there gave me some advice as to what to get basically saying the best ones are either apexi or blitz and that a dual solenoid one is the one to be after. Anyway saw this lad and stuck an offer in for 210 and its mine :D

Chris i think i may come see you for mapping the pfc when i'm ready mate if you are up for it. Decided to go for the pfc as its going to save me loads of money to be honest and i want something that is the least hassle. Not being cheeky mate but you do know your stuff when it comes to mapping the pfc and all that stuff i dont have a clue about? Hope you understand me asking mate as i've spent a lot of time building the car and want a good map for her to fly around on. Nothing set in stone yet like

One thing, when i get an aftermarket map sensor, will the map sensor be connected to the ecu or boost controller?

From the looks of it john it looks pretty simple to use, and from what i have heard its pretty **** hot in action.

map sensor goes to the ECU matey.

boost controller will have its own sensor built in

Hey fawbs, can't vouch for chris's work on that ecu but I have seen his work on some tasty bits of kit including my own and have full faith. U decided what sort of boost ur looking at running yet? I am still a bit scared of going over 2.0bar

1.6bar i'm going to go with a scramble option to 1.8 :D AJ just be careful as people with arp's have reported headlift, some people have started buying the L19 ARP bolts which are 25% stronger than normal arp bolts. Not a lot of cases at all but something to consider.

Sounds good, wouldn't mind doing it through chris, i've heard some stories of certain companies which i'm staying clear of. Best one closest to me which is literally round the corner is tracktive but they are very expensive but **** hot, plus fensport and ryan from 2bar. I know tracktive do the pfc but someone i know had a bill of 780 after they mapped it :o

Unsure of what arp bolts I have, just the ones Fensport have on offer! Just waiting on my forge intercooler to turn up and the snow to melt then I will get it finished! U think it will be long before you get it finished?

I hope so AJ, just this !Removed! downpipe i'm going to get it done before christmas!!!. Other than that its ready to go, just doing some small jobs at the moment. Tiger sealed the Battery box where the back seats were behind the passenger seat. Made some shock absorbers for where the intercooler sits on the brackets i made. Need some more stuff to get that isn't essential to get it running, seats, whiteline arb, undertray, steering wheel, need to get the camber setup etc

Snow'd in at work! Lol you wouldn't believe the amount of break downs we've had dropped off in the last few weeks, clutches, batteries and starter motors galore! Not to mention the odd bend suspension arms from people having fun ;)

Sorry for the late replies, I've done a fair few PFC's, and currently have one waiting for me in work now just as soon as we've fitted the turbo and intercooler. Do you already have the unit or just on the lookout for one?

What's the eta for your intercooler aj? We had to pass on buying into the discount scheme for forge before the VAT rise, instead we're getting the OBDII mapping hardware so Jabbasport can fill our flash map demand in the VAG client base, the things we do for our customers lol.

What pressure sensor is it your going for fawbs? Just so I can sort out calibrations for it :)

Pressure sensor? What do you mean? Is that the map sensor?

If its the map sensor was going to go for the apexi 3bar sensor that you would get with the boost control kit for the pfc. I take it you just replace the standard map sensor with this one and plug it into the side of the pfc?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/APEXi-Power-FC-Pressure-MAP-Sensor-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem27b68068a5QQitemZ170565593253QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_1976wt_939

What will i need for you to map it as do you need me to setup wide band lambda sensor etc? Cause i know usually when you get to a dyno place if you dont have wideband with an afr gauge they usually remove the standard one and put a wideband in.

ive got to look at a a 4 or 5 bar map sensor :(

the rx6 efficiency range is about 2.2 bar so its higher boost needed.

need a swirl pot, Bosch 044 pump and aeromotive FPR yet though.

mike is your down pipe tacked up or is it still in bits?

if its tacked up pop it up and ill TIG it up for you

yeah the MAP sensor is the same thing, if your chasing 2 bar of boost you'll need more than a 3 bar sensor as it only reads up to 2 bar of boost, 1bar is atmospheric pressure then 2bars of boost giving you the 3bar rating. It won't be very accurate if your using it at the top end of it's range.

I'd prefer to use my own wideband if there's a spare hole in the down pipe for it, that way it can be calibrated before we begin and I know it'll be accurate, It's the LM-1 kit I use, apart from that I'd just need a full tank of fuel and clear road ;)
