My T180 had it's 30K service today. I asked MR T to do a brake fluid change aswell and give the car a very through checking over. On collection I was told I need a new set of rear brake discs and Pads. The pads had worn down and grooved the discs. There was no sign of this in the car, it felt normal to drive and stopped on a penny like before. Could be that I have been compensating for it without knowing it. Anyway, I don't drive it that hard, and tend to coast to a stop at motorway junctions etc, so I am surprised that the pads have gone alltogether at 30k. Mr T is doing the discs and labour under warranty but i've to pay for pads, so i'm pleased with that. Also, I topped up my oil before a trip to Scotland earlier this month, 2000miles later Mr T tells me that the oil was only at halfway on the dipstick before they changed the oil. I'll have to keep an eye on that. Anyway, they are giving me a RAV overnight when they do the work, so I may well be asking for a trade-in when I pick the Auris back up again.

Might be worth fellow T180 owners checking there pads at the rear, just to make sure they are not low!

What do you mean? I had an sr180 RAV too but didn't notice a noisy engine or transmission.

The only noise i detected is - when my auris t180 is under hard acceleration and say going uphill, so bearing maximum load it does grunt a bit more. The sr180 rav is like this more often, but thats about it. It was a joy to drive, it is nice n quick for a big SUV type thing. But it wasn't lightning which is why i would always prefer the frugal 2.2 130 / 150 bhp (09) model. And then maybe chip it.

Hi

I put my car in for a service last week and asked them to have a look at the rear brakes.

The problem seems to be that they are binding on, if i sit on an incline and remove the hand brake the car doesn't

roll back at all, it wasn't a major hill but any other car i have had would of rolled back, but the Toyota garage says there is nothing wrong.

I also noticed when coasting in slow traffic a squealing with each rotation of the wheels, even though i wasn't touching the brakes. Is there a common problem with the rear brakes on the auris ??

Also, on a side note has an one noticed how many accident damaged auris' seem to be on eBay, i have been checking

every few days for parts and noticed there seems to loads .

Cheers

Andy
