Long Metal Bar In The Boot

Hi guys,

Just wondering what the long metal bar that runs behind the back seats is for? Can it be removed?

I was helping a friend move recently and put the rear seats down (for the first time!) and realised that the loading capacity is massive for a car like this! Without that metal bar it would have been even more practical but I'm sure it's there for a reason ;)

Cheers

It's your rear upper strut brace. Not original fitment for UK Gen 7s. It's there to stiffen up the rear. It can easily be removed. If you don't like it, a lot of people will buy it from you.

Cheers for the reply. Does that mean that the UK Gen 7's chassis is stronger than the Jap models?

Either way, I think I'll hold on to it for now ;)

No, both bodies are the same. Be interesting to know if you also have the lower rear brace and upper engine brace fitted.

I have a C-One engine brace fitted. On Monday I'm having Whiteline ARB's put on.
