Hi. Prius T-Spirit, 1 Mar 08. Is it possible to put in waypoints? please. (Does the Toyota system use the words 'Points of Interest' to mean waypoints?).

Touch "route" then "add" and put in the waypoint as a new destination.

When you have input the final destination and all the intermediate destinations, you can put them in the right order by touching "route" then "reorder" - it will show you all the destinations that you have input and you select them in the order at which you wish to arrive at them. You can also delete waypoints in a similar way.

What I don't think you can do, is save the list as a route. So if you want to do the same thing at some future date, I believe you need to set it up again. Of course, the individual destinations all save, so it is a bit easier to do next time.

It's all in the manual . . . . . :D

I think there are only 5 or 6 memory locations available which the OP would have on his 2nd Gen Prius. I did stumble across how to add additional destinations, but I don't remember exactly how I did it and it does sound vaguely familar in principle to sagitar's description, but being an older generation of the sat-nav the exact method may not be as described (I remember there being an Add and Replace button on the nav screen but I think I pressed the Dest button to begin entering another destination rather than Route).

Sorry, I know that probably doesn't help!

I am sure that will help. The old Toyota system on my Lexus asked whether you wanted to add or replace the current destination whenever you tried to enter a new destination and I have a feeling that that approach will still work on the later version.

Thanks all for contributions. It's a pity Sagitar didn't write the manual.

Thanks John, but it's a good job I didn't.

I picked up the Prius less than a week ago and I have been struggling to read the owners manual - I think I've got most of it now?

The satnav system looks at first sight much like the one in the Lexus IS 250 that I have relinquished and so I put the reading of the satnav manual lower down the priority list. I now realise, from reading the responses of others, that there are significant differences between the GenIII Prius system and the one in my 2006 Lexus. In particular, the introduction of full post code search for the UK. That is such an improvement. I am sort of hoping that I might get some more nice surprises when I find out more.

I'm off to the Lakes in the morning for a holiday. It'll give me a good chance to get the car run in - and maybe learn how to drive it.

Hey ho . . . . . :driving:
