Removing Windscreen Wiper Arm?

Hi everyone..

Just been searching the forum for information on removing the actual wiper arm from the spindle - NOT the wiper blade from the arm - if you get me..

I've removed a cover - which reveals a little nut...I've undone that - but when trying to pull the arm off the shaft - it just wont budge!

Not one for forcing things - is there something else i need to do to get the arm off?

I believe the splines on the shaft are conical AND you've got the spring pressure

of the arm working against you, pushing the attachment askew over the spindle.

It might be a good idea to unbolt the secondary arm at the blade, this should allow

you to flip up the arm entirely and might make it easier to remove the arm.
