Starting Problems For Me

i have a 91 celica gt 5sfe motor ,it doesnt want to start right up i have to push the gas pedel

an it starts , then i can shut it off go to start it again and itll start right up ive had diagnostics done no problem there , any one have ideas please let me know thank you :help:

I had a similar problem on my 3GE engine. Turnt out to be the fuel pump. I have also seen the same problem on Mazdas but with the ECU.

Both seemed to stem from not sending the signal for extra petrol on startup. On turning it off there is still petrol in the lines ready for turning it back on again.

Get a pump from a breakers for about £20 quid, damn easy to fit
