Servicing Costs - 2009 Verso

Recommended Posts

Posted

I've just bought my first Toyota (2009 Verso 1.8 Automatic).

Today came a letter from the dealer offering me the first three services for a "low cost" of £517 inc VAT. The letter does little to inspire confidence as it shows my car as manual not automatic so the figure would need checking to see if being auto makes a difference.

But two questions, please, for general information. What might I expect the first three services to cost? Are these deals with Toyota worthwhile or, as I suspect, just a way of them getting their hands on my money sooner rather than later?

Thanks.

Myself it seems a bit steep to me that equates to 2x small services (10,000+30,000) and a big service at 20,000 miles !!

I would also think that should include a brake fluid change !!

The 40,000 is the big one

It may be a good idea to phone a couple of dealers and ask the price for the 10,000,20,000 and 30,000 service .

What is the petrol automatic like ?? just bought the diesel 2-2 Automatic

Looking at the prices again maybe not to far out (£140 x2 small) (£200x1 large) £40 brake fluid change = £520

I will try and find out the cost on the 2-2 diesel auto

It does depend on what part of the country it is !! If Listers are your dealership they can be a bit pricey on some services it worth getting alternative quotes !

Just contacted my dealer and the prices they quoted are (2-2 diesel automatic)

10,000 service £132-89

20,000 service £235-63

30,000 service £132-89

40,000 service £330-00

This includes brake fluid change at 20,000 and 40,000 miles

Hope it helps

Thanks for prompt and helpful responses. As I suspected looks like no real advantage.

"What is the petrol automatic like?"

I can't really comment yet. Events have conspired against me in the last few weeks and use has been limited to a few short runs in town where it seems fine.

Just had another quote from a Toyota dealer

10,000 £205-68

20,000 £292-17

30,000 £205-68

40,000 £395-44

Its quite a lot more than the my usual dealer(3rd post) who I normally use !! it would be a good to find out what your dealer will charge you to compare

You spread the cost over the time with interest free direct debit if you wish or pay in a lump sum

do not forget this is for the diesel automatic !! I do not think the price would be much different between the two cars

Thanks,

Dealer quotes:

10k £118.19

20k £211.51

30k £118.19

40k £222.15

So £448 (subject to rises) against £517 fixed. Not very attractive.

I think that highlights what a difference between Toyota dealers there is for servicing costs

Hi

I have had newish cars serviced at dealers for years and never paid full price.... ASK FOR A DISCOUNT... so many people don't bother, just had my wifes Yaris done at Toyota, a two year 20,000 mile service, quoted £194.... asked for discount and we paid £160....

It all adds up....
