post-32325-1253140362_thumb.jpgHi all really could do with some sound advice here. Just took air filter off (blitz sus induction) to give a clean up and noticed after removing oil on the metal and rubber intake piping running to turbo. Didnt seem like fresh oil was almost stuck on but quite thick. Removed all piping to turbo and cleaned up, inspected intake on turbo and all actually looks fine, no damage to turbine blades. Normally with oil in this area you should expect car to be smoking i would have thought but has never smoked or excessively used oil. Fitted all back and car still runs fine as did before. Really just want an idea as to should there be this oil on the intake (is this normal for this car??) and if not why is it there?? Only problem Ive ever had with turbo is the small recirculator hose on top water cooler popped off and obviously lost all boost. This pipe is bunged off, i have always thought stopped recirculator (also gives chatter noise on gear change lol) Is this correct. Please any ideas would be great. Ive included an image of my engine bay below thought might help..

Thankyou

James

Basically mate there is a hose running from the top of the rocker cover where the crank ventilation is and it recirculates back into the intake, this annoyingly creates a film of oil down the intake its a right pain in the ***** so yes its normal. You can always stop that hose and put an oil catch can there instead. Its the thickest black hose running into the intake.
