Iphone Integration

Hi,

Just got my T-Spirit and have one issue with the iPhone bluetooth integration:

If I switch audio mode from BT to FM for example, when I swith back to BT the iPhone disconnect after about 1 seconds and don't reconnect automatically (have to press the Connect button on the display) even if in the setup Auto Reconnect is configured.

Also have th iPod(iPhone)/USB kit (i know I should have made some research before ordering it....) and:

- Connecting the iPhone I got the "not compatible with iPhone, do you want to switch to airplane mode". Annoying but can live with it.

- Got no display of the playlist name, album name or any song name on Prius screen... making it pointless as the iPhone doesn't allow any control or display any usefull information beside a white screen with "accessory connected"....

- Still have to test what happen if you receive a call while connected to the USB/iPod interface.

I think you are Stephane on the Toyota site?

I have the USB/iPod kit and have an iPod connected to it normally. I have just tried my iPhone 3G and it doesn't work through the interface. I can also confirm that if you switch from bluetooth audio to fm and then back to bluetooth the iPhone has disconnected and requires manual reconnection

The USB/iPod integration is completely different from that in the States. We have to put up with the crappy 6 cd changed interface.

In this video here it is connected through the SAT tab

Hi,

Yes it's me... I'm in contact with Melissa to set something up to centralise and report all the Bluetooth/iPod/Phones (not only iPhone) issues. I hope they will modify the firmware and retrofit it with the next update.

I confirm than even if the documentation of the iPod/USB adapter (I just ordered iPod but it seems that I got the USB/iPod one) that the iPhone is supported (audio only), I can only jump playlist without any feedback/display (neither on iPhone or prius).

I'm abroad this weekend, so I'll do more test next week.

Hi Stephane - I wonder if you could test something for me (or anyone else if you have the ipod connector). I'm using an iPod classic hooked up to the connector and you hold the steering wheel button ^ to move up the playlists one at a time. Without fail after 6 playlists it plays for a while and then stops, says problem with changer and effectively disconnects the iPod. Either need to disconnect the ipod or cycle the ign to reset it - not ideal when driving and makes stepping through 20 playlists even more torturous. Does yours do this as well - I'd like to narrow the fault down before I go to Toyota and they claim it's the iPod?

Cheers

Think there are a few issues with ipods/iphones at mo. The "i" software and "toyota" software dont seem to get on with one another. Dont know what they are doing about it though.

Have swapped cables over and done an extensive test (as I can) with iPod nano, iPhone 3G and iPod classic. The nano and iPhone seemed to work fine - being able to move through as many playlists as I wanted. So I did a hard reset on the IPod and tried it again - different cable though. That now seems to work - so fingers crossed!

It's still a pants interface! I spoke to the dealer who enquired with Toyota why it was different to the US version. It just is. Was the really helpful reply. :(

Have decided that the best way to use this interface is to disconnect the iPod, select the album/artist you want, press play, connect the iPod and then press CD on the car. Which is better than my old Kenwood interface which reset the iPod when you connected it. It's still woeful though.
