What Mpg Do You Get?

Not a scientific test, but drove a 1.33 courtesy car to the garage today (including "stop/start" kicking in at traffic lights...) and the dash display showed 46mpg. Drove my own 1.3SR home (with no stop/start system) and that showed 48mpg....

(But then the courtesy car was brand new with only 10 miles on the clock - mine's done 6000 miles now so will be loosened up.....)

Suggests that there's not much real difference between the two around town....

I noticed the sixth gear on the new 1.33 is a real "overdrive" and does about 27mph per 1000rpm, so that should make a real difference to motorway economy, keeping the revs down compared to older 1.3s with the original 5-speed gearbox that is only about 22mph per 1000rpm....
