Interior Light

i am planning on having an alarm fitted and the drivers door works fine but the passenger door doesnt switch on the interior light or show the door open icon when open and i need them to work for the alarm, any ideas??????????

It sounds like you have a bad connection on the passenger door switch, you can easily fix this by first removing the rubber boot and then remove the screw that fastens the switch to the door pillar. Pull switch away from bodywork and inspect the contacts by pressing the actuator ( this should be free moving) give the contacts a clean with very fine emery cloth or sandpaper, make sure the wire is securely connected, also check that there is no rust where the screw fastens the switch to the bodywork as this will only impede current flow.Refit switch and test, all should be fine.
