My first enquiry about my Avensis it has a DAB mode on the radio now i know its for digital radio but do i need to purchase some kind of adaptor to get it to receive digital broadcasts will it be any use & any ideas of cost ???

i'd be interested to know if this were possible too, I had a DAB radio in my Vauxhall & reallly miss the feature in the Avensis. I have fitted a PURE highway DAB radio in the centre console with a magnetic roof aerial but it's no way near as as good as the Vauxhall the signal drops too easily.

The dab has to be factory fitted and if you go for the Toyota one it's quite pricey. I had it fitted to my 58 plate TR and to be honest the reception is so patchy I hardly use it. I thought that it would be fine at least on motorways, but no. It will only become an asset if and when the FM broadcasts are scaled down and DAB becomes the de facto.

If you're still in need of one have a look at an aftermarket one like the Pure.
