Estima / Previa / Torango Cool Box Connection

Hello fellow Toyota-lover's

I have had the pleasure of driving a Toyota Previa 2.4 GL 1994 for the past three years, and must admit that I have fallen in love with this car. Sadly, my Previa is nearing the end of it's expected lifespan, so I am looking for a new, and better equipped Previa.

I have been offered a very good low miles Previa 1995, equipped with all the options I have come across while hunting, EXCEPT the "cool box", and also the super rare "electric curtains", which to me is more fun than useable. However, the "cool box" option has to be in my next Previa, so I would like to install an original cool box to complete the options-package.

My problem is, that I can't seem to find any clear information, regarding weather the cool box co-operates with the A/C system in the car, or.... if it's a seperate unit, running on electricity only.

I have searched near and far, but the more I read, I just seem to get more confused. In 1991, the manual clearly states that the A/C needs to run, before you can activate the coolbox, but how about the newer years..? I really hope, that someone inhere has experience with this cool box, and can elaborate a little on this issue... please :-)

(The Australian / American? "Torango" seems to have a completely different, and much more cool looking "cool box", or maybe it´s something else..?)
