Been looking into a car for the missus in a few months ..

The Yaris seems a good choice, but I'm wanting her to go T-Sport and they seem a bit pricy ..

Can I have some suggestions etc regarding the car .. and any T-Sports going cheap?

I've driven a 1.0 bottom of the range jobbie and they seem fun enough, how do the 1.5's compare?

Is it worth trying to get a 2nd hand one from Mr T?

and help appreciated ..

I appreciate that you are buying the car but does she not have a choice? I have a T-Spirit 1.3 which is also very nice and less pricey! Just from how you worded it that you are choosing the car for her, maybe you should ask her what she wants? She may be happy with something less sporty!

Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant btw! Just trying to help a bit!

if your not looking to Shell out for the TS then go for the SR/T Spirit as they have more poke and more toys at the end of the day

Get a second hand SR 1.3, quick enough, tte spoiler, remus exhaust, alloys and lower springs, i wish i had one instead of my 1.0l but it werent my choice but maybe a YTS nxt

 Good choice the YTS is but i agree with Demonic Angel a bit . What car do you drive ? that might tell me y you want a YTS ? <_< I have also driven the 1.0 gls (think iam right with the model <_< ) But the YTS is in anough league but i would say that as i have one  May be the 1.3 would be just as fun and cheaper :D

the 1.0 is alot of fun, the 1.3 has a little more poke and is a good all rounder.

YTS though is not 'fast' as such.. or 'quick' really... they're more about being !Removed! good fun, especially with flatter cornering than the other models... which can be dramatically improved more so with the TTE springs.

I think they push out 105bhp standard, which is enough in a small car really!

I know that steve ratcliffe sold his car for about £7-8k cos he had to get rid of it quick, that was a 53 plate with about 10 miles too...

I saw another guy on here pick up a YTS for about £6k or something silly!

it's just about hunting a bargain deal m8, they are out there!

Organise a test drive of the 1.3 and 1.5 so u can see the differences, it's the best thing to do really

I'm Bibbs's Missus

He isn't choosing the car for me, I was here when he wrote the post.. I had a sit in a T spirit the other day (didn't get chance to test drive it though) and I really liked the look of it..

I would be interested in the 1.3 or above..I drive a megane at the moment and would like something with a little more about it..and the Yaris seems perfect.

El nombre, I think we would be interested to see yours but am really not looking to buy anything for the next few months unfortunately (but I want one NOW!! )

Thanks for the advice guys...any comments are appreciated :D

Oh, and the main reason he wants me in the sportier version? Look at his profile! He drives an MR2 Turbo, very modded!

erm .. a 250+ bhp MR2 ..

So a T-Spirit (1.3) with a small drop and bracing would be as good as (and cheaper on the insurance)?

I've driven the 1.0 and it seems nice enough (shame it was white with a light blue interior) .. but defo needs a bit more power and a firmer ride ..

i don't c why not!!!

1.3's enuf 4 any woman (sorry ladies) unless she's a petrol head and rips it bout everywhere!!!

And the springs and the strut brace should tidy up the handling nicely!!!

Cheers

She rips about in my MR2 (much to my disgust - overtaking me while I was in a 3.0 V6 Alfa) .. I don't think a surplus of power will be a problem at all

well... the 1.3 is hardly any different on mpg to the 1.0, and u get a few more bhp out of it. stiffen the suspension like you say and u'd have a nice little fun car!

Tsport has obviously got more poke, and more 'go' than the 1.3, it's 105bhp and can quite easily be modded to 115-120bhp with a good filter/exhaust combo.

insurance on the 1.0 is group 4, the YTS is group 7.... not sure on the 1.3 though... must be group 5 surely.

if i were you i'd get a tsport, the fun factor is there  :D

plus u can safely take on saxo VTR's etc in the knowledge ur not going to lose!

they're certainly not a hot hatch, but they definitely are underrated and overlooked by the majority.

Sorry louise3512uk- I didnt mean to offend you in any way - I just assumed he was choosing for you or something!!

The T-Spirit is lovely, I have a 1.3 3 door, but I never looked at a T-Sport as I couldnt afford one of those!

I'm quite happy with my car but then again I'm a bit girly and not into serious sportiness or speed or anything - I'm just happy with a pretty car!

I'm sure whatever you choose will be fab! :D

Demonic Angel - don't worry no offence taken!!

El Nombre, looking forward to having a closer look at you car! Pop over to the black MR2 Turbo making lots of noise on the night...that'll be me and my other half!

Acemiko, if you're in the area you should really pop along to the meet, in B&Q in Reading..last time i went there was a good number of Jap cars there - good fun!

Oh..and by the way.....

HI EVERYONE I'M NEW!!! :D
