T Sport Badges

Hey,

I got a T Sport (2001) a few weeks ago and have since bought replacement T Sport badges because the original ones have faded a bit. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the old ones off without/with minimal damage to the paint work?

Thanks

If you do a search there will be a few posts on this.

But the easiest thing to do is wait for a warm sunny day (unlikely) or get a hairdryer (on a low heat, not too close to the paintwork) to gently warm up the Badge. Then get some waxed dental floss and work it back and forth behind the Badge, a bit like using a cheeswire on cheese (don't use cheese wire, obviously!). There's bound to be some residue left from the sticky pad (and the wax off the floss) so peel off as much as you can using your fingernails and then polish and re-polish until smooth.

Key thing is don't rush. Take your time! And whatever you do, don't use a screwdriver to pry it off.

I got one for the front grill from a Corrolla but it does not fit 2001 grill. Where did you get the one for the grill?

  • 3 weeks later...

sorry its taken me this long to reply! the dental floss idea worked a treat! didnt even need to warm it or anything.

I got both the badges off eBay through this store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/CP-RACING-STORE

They dont sell front grill badges specifically, I had to use the clips from my orginial badges, but it looks so much better now! new life for a 2001 car :-)
