2002 Rav Engine Kaput.. What Will Fit?

As per the title a friends RAV4 has seized due to lack of oil.

Will an Avensis engine fit as they are more common.

Anyone know for definite - I have tried to search for the answer but nothing as yet.

You can fit an engine to anything. I'd guess that the block will be the same. Just need to check that other things like sensors and wiring loom etc is the same. Maybe someone has done it here?? If not, try rav4world as someone might have done it overseas.

I deem the only Parts King can give your this info because of the geometry of both diferent engines might criate a mounting problems.

Another way -- to visit scrap stores to extract an Avensis engine dims and compare with yours.

diesel engine or petrol? if petrol? avensis and rav4.2 engine not the same ( 1998cm3 1az-fse(direct injection) & 1az-fe, block not same ), if diesel - not the same too - turbo unit not the same,horse power not same. much better search for wrecked toyota picnic, previa for engine. JDM engine spare parts not useful.
