I recently bought my 2005 (version 1 phase 2) Yaris from a toyota dealership on looking at then engine there is is something that concerns me very slightly (I should of taken a photo but it was raining), when I google for Yaris engine pictures there doesn't seem to be many but the one I saw appeared to feature the thing that puzzled me. On the passenger (right) hand side of the engine there appear to be three pipes connected in a Y shape which appear to be held together by Gaffa tape. The car is running fine and has been whizzed up and down the motorway a few times.

Thanks

Picture?

Thanks for your reply, upto now I haven't got a photo, sorry-didn't get back from work till late last night and it was dark, will nip out before I go to work. I did find these two pictures on the net and the same thing definately appears to appear on his engine. The first photo is the better photo, it can be seen clearly on the far left upper portion of the photo. I am wondering if it serves as some form of insulation.

if its the bit top left of the first picture then its the engine main wireharness. the tape is factory applied to hole the cable protector (the spiral type case you can see)
