Hi - Will need to replace the front tyres on the Rav 225/65/R17 101H currently Bridgestone. Rang around the usual companys and the prices fitted for the same make range from £150/158, Yoks £130/136 (have not yet attempted to negociate), however, a budget tyre was mentioned NANKANG at £95 fitted. I have found their WEB site. Does anybody out there have any experience of the make? Many thanks.

I have a Dutch friend who does the Type Approvals on Chinese tyres. He says as long as they are "e" marked (and they will be if your distributor is selling them and they are not out of the back of a Transit van!) they all meet the minimum spec for safety and wear. Obviously there are differences from brand to brand but as long as you accept they may not last as long or might be noisey or not as good in the wet etc, there should be no good reason to try them if you want to save a bob (shilling/5p for anyone less than the age of 30!!!) or two.

I will use my spare and buy one tyre as I see no benefit in eternally running around with a new tyre as an ornament. Are you spare less?

Thanks for the reply. Not into transit vans and cash, good point about the spare, I do have an unused one. Last week replaced the horn from your ecellent "how to do it" easy. many thanks.
