Remote Central Locking For '94 Carina E

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a Kudos+ estate (94M) and still going great at 130k. I bought it a few years back and it didn't come with any fob or device for remote central locking. It has a TVSS control box under the drivers seat, doesn't state a version so I assume the original?

Reading through the posts in here everyone else seems to have the remote option; do all models have it ? I know I'd at least need to buy a fob.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated. Didn't get any response last time I asked, maybe someone knows now?

Thanks,

Max

Okay, does anyone still run a 94 era Carina E and use the remote central locking. My local dealer reckoned £70 for the fob and £60 to programme. All seems a bit steep for me tbh. So, does anyone have the part number (dealer told my missus 42096 which doen't seem right, not enough digits) so I can track down a cheaper or generic one.

The car has the TVSS system (no version), part number for the ecu (under the drivers seat) is 08190-00821.

Any help appreciated.

Hi mate, my car is a 97 carina e auto,

you say that your system is under the drivers seat but is that just the alarm or the imbololiser system. There are 2 places where the actual imolobiser system is located which i assume is part of the ecu would be 1 under and behind the drivers glove compartment or 2 beneath the centre console so have you seen these and have you actualy seen the alarm under the seat. If you can determine which is the actual imobilsier can you see a black grounded wire conected to it?
