No Audio From Doorspeakers

hey everyone,

Got a little problem that im wrestling with for about a month already.

I've bought a '01 yaris but I found out the Speakers in my doors arent playing along. The wires are connected, and the Speakers are ok.

Tried with some old Speakers which I was sure of that work, and those didn't play either.

Was wondering if anyone here has any ideas i could try.

Or maybe someone has a wiring diagram for me?

Thnx in advance :)

Have you got the "fader" fully to the "front" setting? The door Speakers are connected to the radio as the "rear" Speakers and the dash Speakers are the "front" speakers.

Try shifting the front/rear fader on the radio to the rear and see if they start working...

Thnx for your reply.

I have tried this. and when its to full rear there is no sound at all. not even if I hook up a speaker I know is working.

I'ts allmost as if the wires dont reach the radio. Or the radio isnt working as it should

Hmmm. Is it a GS model? Like you say, its as if the wires don't connect to the radio. Mine was a CDX, but I can't remember if some of the lower spec models just had two Speakers as standard....

If they do and someone's tried adding two Speakers later, maybe they've never worked and they gave up trying...

I think all you can do next is remove the head unit from the dashboard and try connecting a spare speaker directly to the "rear speaker" connection in the multiplug on the radio to see if the radio is sending a signal out....

If you want to do that, there are many threads that will tell you how to remove the head unit - just do a search....

Sorry - just realised its a T-Sport, so assume that it had four Speakers as standard... But the same theory applies - all you can do is check the head unit output....

Hey thnx for the reply.

Im not sure what GS or CDX means, but yea, the Speakers seem original.

I'd like to try directly to the headunit. But I dont know which output to use.

I know how to get the unit out. I've done it before. just dont know what output does what. :)

Have tried to look up manuals, but i cant find anything

I did spend 20 mins searching forums and the 'net for a wiring diagram, but couldn't find anything I'm afraid....
