New Yaris Spirit Questions

I'm looking to buy a new Yaris Spirit and am wondering what you guy's think I will pay for one. Do they come with free insurance? I'm also looking to trade-in my Fiat Punto 75SX but am wondering if it might be better to sell this privately and use the money as a deposit. Does anyone know how much I should be hoping to try and get off the price given that I won't be using finance? I'm also interested in the sat nav and alarm system as additionals, anyone know how much I am likely to pay for these additionals? Is the sat nav actually any good?

Do you think you will get a better deal if you pay cash then?

I have just bought a Yaris T-Spirit and its lovely! :D

Although I am a little biased of course!

AFAIK they are only doing free insurance on the T3, and that is only if you take out finance anyway. On the T-Spirit they are doing a £500 deposit deal but again you have to take out finance - which I didnt do either btw! I arranged a personal loan and paid by card.

I dont know about the alarm or sat nav as mine is a basic T-Spirit, but if you pop into your dealership they will tell you how much they are as add ons. I have heard the sat nav is a bit naff - you might be better off getting a PDA with Tom Tom navigator as Tom Tom is great! I have used that before and its very clear and the graphics are good.

I wanted to PX my Daewoo Matiz for my Yaris but was actually advised by the salesman at Toyota to sell privately as they wouldnt give me diddly squat for p/x. So I am selling my Matiz privately now and will get a lot more for it. Maybe you should do the same?

Best of luck buying though, the T-Spirit is a lovely car, I'm chuffed to bits with mine and the service I got at Listers in Coventry. :group-cuddles:

I thought that they would prefer to not have someone finance the purchase and hence discount for it, I dunno.

Demonic Angel -> Do you mind me asking how much you paid?

The worst thing you can say to a dealer is "I'm paying cash" If you want finance then the dealer has an opportunity to earn commission on the finance, hence you have a better chance of a discount.

But make sure they do you a good rate too!

Demonic Angel: How much did the dealer offer you for your matiz & how much have you got it up for sale?

I bought a T3 Diesel. The book price was £9600 with metallic paint. I printed some prices off the net took it to the dealer and said I'm not prepared to pay £9600 if you match this price I've found on the net I will buy it. They matched the price (£8800) I payed a £4800 deposit and the rest is on 0% finance (4k).

The 0% finance I think is only offered at this dealer, special offer. They also chucked in a full set of mats and full tank of diesel and I had the free insurance. Bargain!! :D

I paid £10,400 for it - tbh I was happy to not bargain as I just wanted the car - but I did get loads of extras for free like Yaris car mats, full tank of fuel etc etc.

I went there knowing what I wanted and the bloody finance guy couldnt get a word in edgeways! :D
