Hi there,

I've been a Toyota fan for quite a few years and have previously owned 1 MR2 N/A, 1 MR2 turbo, 1 ST185 GT4, 1 ST205 GT4 and 1 MK4 Supra N/A manual.

Nothing to me gives the same build quality, reliability and performance in one package.

Anyway, I've always fancied something a it retro so I've purchased a 1979 TA40 Carina running the 2T-B and although it is still taxed and tested it is in need of a good freshen up in every department.

Plans for it are to strip it, sort the bodywork and to respray it in deep glossy burgandy.

Once that is done then I will be fitting some +55mm front overfenders and +60mm rear overfenders along with a ducktail spoiler and front lip which will all be in gloss black.

Fit buckets, wider wheels, some suspension upgrades and start work on the engine and sort out a good diff!!!

I'm sure there will be lots more but that's enough of me going on for now!!!

Thought I'd give this a bump and just show how I've got on with the Carina so far.

Decided against the glossy red and just went for pure white with some black arches and spoiler. It was a lot of work but I love it now!

I have recently taken delivery of 2 OMP bucket seats, a 4AGE engine, Celica T50 gearbox, Yamaha Thunderace carbs, Triumph 955 silencer and am awaiting delivery of some Toyota Racing Developments shock absorbers.

Should all be finished by the end of Feb and then it is going to the Nurburgring on the first weekend in April!
