Sports Pedals

Hi, I bought new sport pedals for my Yaris. The Clutch and Brake original pads easily came of to reveal a metal plate with holes already drilled to fit the new pedals, thanks to the thinking of Toyota.

The problem is with accelarator pad. It doesnt come of easily and there isnt any metal plate under the rubber pad. Which means drilling into the rubber thou behind right in the center is the metal frame connecting it to the rest of the car.

Any ideas what to do. thanks :)

only thing i can think of is what you have already said and to drill into the metal then use self tappers to secure
