Mp3 On Dvd+rw Dvd-dl

Well MP3s work on DVD+RW but only the first 250 tracks. So if you want 50+ albums on there, you need to create albums where all the tracks are combined into one file. You can't select the track but you can have 100+ albums on a DVD-DL.

I think we can forget a firmware update to allow the drive to see all the files, so we're stuck with it.

Tried a DVD-R with no luck (not recognised by the CD). As per OOTF's post, a DVD+RW was recgonised, but only 250 tracks.

It seems that the software reads in all the track names so that it can display by Album / track rather than present a hierarchical veiw of the directory structure on the disk. It's a shame, because when trying to find an album / track, the listing has no indication of "artist" - though when the track starts to play, it seems to find the information.

Still, 250 tracks on a DVD is still a fair amount of music! And it gives a ready way of listening to podcasts (OK the alternative is to plug an iPod into the AUX socket!)

Can anyone confirm that folders are recognised on CDs. If they are, that may give us a clue to a different way of burning the DVD to allow it to see folders.
