Changing Bulb In Dash Digital Clock

i have a 1996 carina gs 1.8 petrol and the dashboard has a digital clock above the radio but the bulb is away.

how do i replace the bulb?

does half the dash come out or is it easier?

please help asap :(

Small screwdriver or similar placed in the top left and top right of the center facia and prise it out, it can be a bit tight.

I don't think you can change the bulb i think you have to change the whole clock.

My problem was the clock was dim (just about unreadable during the daytime) or not displaying anything most of the time, sometimes it would briefly work OK.

If it just went out, then I think it would be a fuse. My clock did not have a bulb, just the LCD.

When googling dim Toyota clock I find a company in the US who refurbishes Toyota clocks.

I guessed the problem was dry soldered joints, so I touched each with a hot soldering iron.

Clock is now like new.

There were four small springs that make contact between the board & plug pins. Be careful not to drop them after unscrewing the board.
