'outside' Passenger Door Lock

Hi

Is the passenger door lock meant to 'blank' ? - I mean, there's just like a metal plate where you'd normally put your key in (to open the door).

I've only noticed this after 4 and half years

I think they are, if you have the remote fobs. My school car has a keylock there, my own, a blank. Security issue!!
