Wheel Arch Loose

Greetings all,

first post on here and a newbie.

Bought an 02, 2.0l D4D, the other week, after spending ages looking for one - why didn't I buy one earlier - absolutely LUV IT !!

Anyway, bought it from a dealer, who said he would fix the loose rear, n/s wheel arch, which although is attached, needs 'pulling in' to the body work.

Mechanic I am not, but was hoping someone may have an idea of how to do this, probably fairly simple (I hope), but am sure someone on here knows how/what to do it ?

Appreciate any thoughts guidance, and if more info needed, just shout !!

Cheers

Pritch

the inner or outer arch mate??if its the outer the plastic lugs might have snapped off.i'd just go right back as they said they would do a job and well they haven't.

As Ormi says above sounds like one of the plastic lugs has either snapped or is not gripping properly, Take it back + ask them to do it... Now it just so happens that the only mark i ever got on my 4.2 was when i caught the rear N/S wheel arch on my gatepost I took it off had it resprayed + put back on however one small part wouldn't quite pull into the bodywork, the garage very very carefully put a single spot of superglue on the mating parts + held them together for a couple of minutes, 5 yrs later + it hasn't moved but I don't know what type of glue it was so might be best if you don't try this yourself :fear: Stew

Thanks all - I'll have a look first to see if any obvious 'lugs' not fitting.

Garage say theyve done all they can......so I'll see what I can do but thanks for the advice.

Hi Pritch,

not wishing to be alarmist but if the arch moulding is undamaged, it could be deformation of the rear wing that is causing the problem. A minor shunt at the rear which perhaps needed bumper replacement could be the problem. Hope not - but not unheard of.
