Celica Exhaust Problem

Hello. I have a dilemna... The complete exhause on my 1998 Celica ST needs replacing. I have been quoted £1200 for a genuine Toyota one, but some of the parts are also obselete, so it's also not guaranteed that the parts will be found. I have tried sourcing through a scrap yard and thought I had struck lucky with a company in Birmingham who said they had one suitable. After being messed about for a few weeks they failed to deliver, saying the back box on the car they had their was too worn and another was impossible to get hold of.

I could get one made which will cost a bit less than the Toyota one or look for an equivalent non Toyota, either way I will be looking to spend over half what the car is worth!

The car is only worth around £1000 if I sell it and I can't see the sense in spending that amount of money for a Toyota part or even the non Toyota part for that matter!

Does anyone have any ideas?

i would try eBay first. if not, you would be able to get a performance exhaust for much cheeper. A custom shop like powerflow would be no more that about £300-350

Lots of specialist Celica breakers around, have a look on celica-club .co.uk if you haven't already ;)
