If you have the broken bit you can buy a blank off eBay, get it cut and swap the innards.

is there any way that i can bypass the immobilizer? the alarm isn't activated as my batteries ran out a while ago and so i've just been locking the doors manually. so i can get into the car alright, but starting it is the issue

Hi nvisibl - sorry to hear that. Not having the transponder is quite an issue I believe, at least from what I've been reading on several posts here. You need at least one transponder to program another one.

Aviemore?

Get it transported down to Possilpark and somebody there will get it started for you. Then it becomes an insurance job... B)

its an option to consider... just called Toyota and they said it would run into £1,000 to sort out which is quite bleak as i can't afford the expense

any other ideas out there?

Hello,

Yes I can help you. I need the year of manufacture of your car. I need a electronic unit from your car posting to me, which unit depends which year the car is.

I can then program a key directly to the unit and return it to you. Plug it back in and the car will start.

If you have a broken blade send a photograph of it to me - and i can cut the key from the photograph.

I do these all the time, mostly from overseas - and have no problem at all.

If you wish to go ahead or need more info, my website is:

My website is

www.keyprogrammers.com

n.b. I do not provide additional keys for people - I only do complete work when people cannot start the vehicle. The postal service is not suited to doing spare keys!
