Speed Awareness Course

Well just got back from my speed awareness course, have to say for a very experienced (not neccesarily good) driver i picked up a few tips, and might  actually buy a highway code as i have not really looked at one since 1968, it was a helpful but slightly boring course lasting 4hrs 20 mins very mixed age goup + roughly equal men + women.. Best thing about it didn't get 3points and i did get a free pen with THINK before you speed on it

 Stew.. There was a speed camera right outside the venue + one of the youngsters attending the course reckons it flashed him on his way in..

I usually find hard copies more convenient, but don't forget it's also available online:

i did get a free pen with THINK before you speed on it

Isn't that really a £60 pen?

got flashed by a speed camera on the A9 travelling south - odd I thought cos speedo was reading 62mph....in a 60 limit.

Got home and checked miles on the clock and it was 140 - should have read avout 170 miles. Turns out drive in gearbox to speed sensor has a broken plastic ring and so was under-rating the speed!! Never came across that before.

I heard a funny story about a speed camera that flashed at every one passing. Somehow this was done to use up the film, maybe because of the due date. The Norwegian cameras take the picture at the front of the car, because they need to identify the driver.

Anyway, this one guy passed and noticed the flash. Then he turned and passed again to verify that he had the correct speed... then it flashed again. Annoyed by this, he turned and passed again driving 10 km/h below limit, and it flashed even now! He then gave up.

Some days later he received 3 tickets for not wearing his seat belt

This is allegedly a true story.

Dear all,

That seems like a believable one.

How about this, taxi driver gets done for speeding driving past police speed check run by 'marked' traffic car. Driver is stopped and booked.

Police go back to same spot and park up and taxi comes back passed the police car having dropped off pasengers e few minutes later and gets caught byu same police at same spot as ten minutes before.

Sometimes its a matter of natural selection, the weak and stupid are weeded out by the system.

I definately belive this one.
