Hiace Hazards

Hi I am looking to buy an imported hiace, which is very nice to look at but having read some of the engine info on this site, I need some reassurance as to the engine quality.

The only thing I can see on the engine is EFI DEISEL TURBO written on the valve cover.

Is there some way I can find out whether this a good 2 litre engine, or if it is one of the overheating prone varieties.

If anybody can help, I would be most grateful, because I am so tempted by just the look of the thing.

Beware I thought I had found a goodun but even mine with only 33 34 thousand miles still suffered the head cracking problem, 1000 pounds later.........

I wish I had never seen the poxy thing.

I have done 150 miles in something which stands me over 7 grand and it is still not finished yet.
