Hi All:

Yesterday I drained oil and opened up the oil pan for my prados auto transmission in order to clean the strainer/pan and then fill her up with new tranmission oil, what I found in the strainer was a fair bit of shinny metal shavings, I can't seem to beleive this would be normal !!?!!! The iron filings you normally find stuck on the magnet in the oil pan looked like normal deposits one would find every time you open the oil pan...but the shinny shavings is the first time I have seen in the many years I have serviced auto transmissions.

I would immensly appreciate response from Toyota forum readers. Should I be worried something is grinding uneven, or wearing and soon will reach a stage the transmission will start playing up??? Please help if you have exprienced this before?

Talk soon,

Prado1fiji.
