Is Buying An Avensis Easy?

After some ups and downs we went along to collect a 57 Avensis.Docs hadn't arrived nor second key.Waited around for about3/4 hr.Docs arrived and second key but without transponder so it was agreed that the garage would provide the correct key.All now seemed well the car had been serviced and a set of new breakpads fitted, great.Went to drive off, break pedal goes to the floor. Will it be O K tomorrow ?That is my tale of wo !!!

I have been driving a Rover 75 diesel and I was surprised how light the clutch pedal in the Avensis was does this seem right ?

where are you getting it - Shields, Hamilton or Darnley perhaps?

Hi,

The clutch is light & the gear change smooth, but that is true of most Japanese-esque cars. I can understand, the difference compared to the Rover.

When the brake pedal went to the floor, did it stop? I imagine it did, but if it went as far as it would go to work, then that is an issue I would get rectified from the garage.

The pedal just went down to the floor under a little resistance,it was what I remember as the feel you get when bleeding brakes. My suspicion is that a leak has developed as a result of the tech fitting the break pads.It is still with the garage I hope they have fixed it by tomorrow morning
