Knocking On Full Lock

My MR2 Roadster is sitting (as I type) at my local garage with the mechanics scratching their heads. They can hear the knocking noise but cannot find what the problem is. Can anyone here help? The knocking is coming from the front end and happens on full lock although the mechanic says that he can hear it whilst driving at a slow speed in a straight line!

I'd appreciate ANY advice

Sounds like your CV joints mate, you would'nt hear them knocking while driving in a straight line anyway.

Its rear wheel drive...

Try the strut top bearings. They dry out and need lubricating/ replacing...
