Folding Bike In Aygo Trunk?

Hello,

For my daily commute to the city center of Amsterdam, I currently use the Aygo which I park in a suburb and change over to the subway. However, I prefer to use a (folding) bike to the subway. I am looking to buy a folding bike to put in the trunk. That way, I can leave it in the car when I'm not using it (at night or in bad weather), inconspicuously. Furthermore, as my kids ride in the back seat a couple of times a week, I prefer a solution where the bike goes into the trunk rather than on the back seats.

Anyway, I was wondering which bikes fit in the trunk of the Aygo. Today I was at a store and the salesperson wouldn't even let me try a 16" folding bike in the trunk, claiming that the bike might be damaged (...)

I know that a 20" Dahon Vitesse D7 fits (I found a picture on the net), but does anyone have experience with other folding bikes that fit in the Aygo's trunk?

Try another store, eventually you'll find one wanting to sell a bike and will let you try. I wonder if this man thougut you'll run away withe the bike once in the car....amazing

I bought a second hand Dahon Boardwalk today. It's a 20" folding bike. It fits nicely, although I still have to see whether the shelf can go back to its normal position. I'll probably be able to post a picture tomorrow.
