What Are They? And Do They Work?

Noticed something in my headlights and wondered what they are and if they work? Above the main headlights and below the sidelight bulb are what appears to be 5 LED lights. What are they for? Can they be switched on? Are they dummys or used in another market?

I notice on the side of the headlight surround that there is a blanking plate where the amber reflector goes for the US market models but next to it appear 4 LED lights. Again can these be switched on? or are they dummies? I would find it useful if they could be switched on as anything that help visibility is useful - especially as I have a black car :o

Anyone know? Anyone technical from Toyota know?

The plastic blobs in the lens that I agree do look like LEDs are not, they're just plastic blobs!

Oops, ignore me, just seen this is referring to a GenIII, on the GenII they are blobs but I don't know about the newer model sorry

Hear hear. I had a quick look through that link and after about 5 mins I gave up :(

If you're able to copy and paste the section that applies I'll be really grateful :)

Well I've read right through that massive post and the only thing I can find is the optional LED headlight pack, but that applies to the headlights and presumably not the 5 small sidelight type LED's or the 4 side LED's.

So, anyone any idea what they are for and can they be 'switched on' etc - as per my original post?

Hi Grumpy

The idea is you ask the question you want answered from Toyota Technical team. If you scroll right down to the bottom and post your question, Toyota Technical Team will come back with an answer.
